    Steve,

Really enjoyed this. Made me laugh despite all the other problems I seem to have. Please don't forget the pomegranites!!!

    Hi Steve,

I'm very interested in a George Oppenheim you have listed as a buyer on your listing for the member numbers 138-149.

Could this be George Emil Oppenheim who was born in 1879? If so he is a missing member of the research into the Oppenheim family of Manchester that I am undertaking.

Could you drop me a line and let me know if this is a possible match? The other details I know are that he married Adelaide Heywood in 1911 and that in the Slater's Directory of Altrincham, Bowdon ..., 1914 he is listed as living at "Honeyburn".

    Kindest Regards

    Hi Steve
What a wonderful record, and pictures too !
My uncle Percy Selby member 242, at least I think that is him !- he was an optician at 1153 ashton old road for around 60 years, and I believe when he died in his 80's, was the oldest practising Optician in the UK.
Do you have any means of checking whether this is one and the same person.
Sadly there does not seem to be a photo - however if it is him, will be happy to send you one from the 60's.
    Regards
    Ian Reed

Forgive my ignorance but I have just been researching an ancestor "John Mansell Southern" then clickd on to search the web for him and came across your comment "for some reason Bowden Lodge Summons had miss-spelt the name of John Mansell Southern showing it as John Mansell Saunders! Dont worry when I spotted ..."
I tried then to see if I could find out anything about DeTatton2144 but have not been successful. Perhaps you could explain please?
